Pinckneyville School District 50 Board of Education met May 17.
Here is the agenda provided by the Board:
The president called the meeting to order and directed the secretary to take roll. The roll was taken and Austin Marlow, president and the following members were present: Kyle Pursell, Scott Carney, Aaron Johnson and Greg Conway Gideon Hutchcraft and Craig Lazenby were not in attendance. Also present were the following people: Tim O’Leary, Scott Wagner, Mark Rohlfing, Tyson Tanner, Barbie Templeton, Cathy Rezba and Lexy Travelstead.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to approve the agenda. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to approve the minutes from the Board Meeting on April 19, 2018 as presented. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to approve the Treasurer’s Report from March 15, 2018 and April 19, 2018 as presented. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried.
The bills for the month of May 2018 were submitted for payment. A discussion of the bills was held. A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to approve the bills as presented. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Carney, Conway, Johnson and Marlow. Yes – 5 No – 0. Motion carried. (Hutchcraft Arrives 7:02 P.M.)
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to approve the Imprest Fund Report for April 2018 as presented. Roll call vote: Yes – Carney, Conway, Pursell, Marlow, Johnson and Hutchcraft. Yes – 6 No – 0. Motion carried.

Mr. O’Leary presented Handbook and Athletic Policy updates. No action at this time.
Mr. O’Leary presented an informational item on health insurance premiums.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to accept hazardous bus routes as presented for the 2018-19 school year. Yes – 6 No – 0. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Conway to accept the Prevailing Wage Act Resolution as presented. Roll call vote: Yes – Marlow, Pursell, Carney, Conway, Hutchcraft and Johnson. Yes – 6 No – 0. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to waive the beginning band tuition fee for the 2018-19 school year. Roll call vote: Yes – Carney, Conway, Pursell, Marlow, Johnson and Hutchcraft. Yes – 6 No – 0. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to move the June Board Meeting to Tuesday, June 12th @ 7:00 P.M. Roll call vote: Yes – Marlow, Pursell, Carney, Conway, Hutchcraft and Johnson. Yes – 6 No – 0. Motion carried.
Mr. O’Leary presented an informational item on the TIF Request.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to approve the Title I Plan as presented. Roll call vote: Yes – Carney, Conway, Marlow, Pursell, Hutchcraft and Johnson. Yes – 6 No – 0. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing personnel,student suspensions and negotiations. Time 7:09 p.m. Roll call vote: Yes – Conway, Carney, Marlow, Pursell, Hutchcraft and Johnson. Yes – 6 No – 0. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to come out of executive session. Time 7:41 p.m. Yes – 6 No – 0. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Hutchcraft to accept the resignation of Nathan Kellerman as Assistant Boys’ Baseball Coach. Roll call vote: Yes – Carney, Conway, Marlow, Hutchcraft and Johnson. No – Pursell. Yes – 5 No – 1. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Hutchcraft to hire Jayci Barnett as a kindergarten teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. Roll call vote: Yes – Johnson, Marlow, Carney, Conway, Pursell and Hutchcraft. Yes – 6 No – 0.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to set Board’s Secretary pay at $40.00 per Board Meeting. Roll call vote: Yes – Carney, Pursell, Marlow, Hutchcraft, Johnson and Conway. Yes – 6 No – 0. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Pursell to adjourn the meeting. Yes – 6 No – 0. Motion carried.
