The Board of Education of Pinckneyville Community High School District #101, Perry County, Illinois, met in a regular session on the 23rd of July, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pinckneyville Community High School in that district. The following officers and members of the Board were present: Greg Thompson, President; Lisa Stanton, Secretary, Brian Kellerman, Jeff Suchomski, Jennifer Robb, Kyle Pursell and Greg Bigham. Keith Hagene, Superintendent, Tony Wilson, Principal and Kathryn Restoff, recording secretary, were also present.
Visitors present: Marilyn Smith, Stuart Morgenstern.
It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Brian Kellerman to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call: Brian Kellerman, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; and Jeff Suchomski, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
Visitors were welcomed and invited to address the board. No comments were made from the public.
Mr. Hagene gave a facilities update.
It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Greg Bigham to approve the PRESS policy updates as presented. Roll call: Brian Kellerman, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; and Jeff Suchomski, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
There were no FOIA requests this month.
It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Jeff Suchomski authorizing the tentative budget to be placed on public display at least 30 days prior to formal adoption in September. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Lisa Stanton and approved by Jennifer Robb to approve the 2019 regular board meeting dates as presented. Roll call: Brian Kellerman, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; and Jeff Suchomski, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Kyle Pursell to have all closed session minutes from January 1, 2018 through June 30, 2018 remain closed and confidential. Roll call: Brian Kellerman, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; and Jeff Suchomski, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Jennifer Robb to approve the Resolution R-2018-2 authorizing the destruction of all recordings of closed session minutes conducted by the Board prior to January 1, 2017. Roll call: Brian Kellerman, yes;
Greg Thompson, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; and Jeff Suchomski, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Lisa Stanton to approve an hourly raise of 50 cents per hour to non-certified staff members employed 1 year or longer by Pinckneyville Community High School District #101 for the 2018-2019 school year. Roll call: Brian Kellerman, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; and Jeff Suchomski, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Jennifer Robb to employ Sumitha (Fischer) McCauley as Title 1 Reading Aide for the 2018-2019 school year. Roll call: Brian Kellerman, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; and Jeff Suchomski, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Lisa Stanton to accept the resignation of Todd Thomas as Physical Education and Driver Education Instructor. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Kyle Pursell to employ Brian Taylor as Physical Education and Driver Education Instructor for the 2018-2019 school year. Roll call: Brian Kellerman, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; and Jeff Suchomski, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Jeff Suchomski to approve Aaron Hawk and Kent Epplin as Volunteer Assistant Soccer Coaches. Voice Vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Jennifer Robb and seconded by Kyle Pursell to approve Brian Taylor and Garrett Huggins as Volunteer Assistant Football Coaches. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Kyle Pursell to adjourn the meeting at 7:09 p.m. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
