City of Waterloo Police Committee met Sept. 4.

Committee Members – Mayor Smith, Aldermen Thomas / Buettner / Hopkins and Darter
1. Hiring of Officers
Discussion regarding the hiring of two police officers to replace vacancies. Alderman Hopkins asked if new cars would be needed. The answer was no. A motion was made by Alderman Hopkins and seconded by Alderman Darter to make a recommendation to the Police Commissioners for the hiring of two police officers. Motion approved.
2. Comments
a) A discussion was held on portable radios and possible purchase of a radio.
Wireless USA has offered a radio repair contract. This item will be discussed further at the September 10th Utility Meeting.
b) The sergeant test is moving on.
Motion to adjourn made by Alderman Thomas and seconded by Alderman Buettner. All in favor.
