City of Red Bud City Council met August 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Members Present:Mayor Tim Lowry, Clem Esker, Curt Guebert, Mike Reed, Bill Hanebutt, Glenn Linnertz, David Friess, Kyle Donjon

Members Absent:Susan Harbaugh

Others Present: City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker

Others Absent: City Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

I.Call to Order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Tim Lowry

II.Roll Call by City Adm. Assist. Pam Poetker

III.Resolution No. 18-004: A Resolution Submitting Advisory Questions For The General Election Ballot On November 6, 2018

Tim Fahey, chairman of the parks & recreation committee addressed the council in support of the splash pad and questioned the need to attach tax revenue to support a splash pad because of the low maintenance cost involved. The Mayor responded that he is not in favor of this resolution, but feels it needs more study in relationship to the total city budget. Council Member Reed explained his support of the resolution.

Motion made by Council Member Donjon seconded by Council Member Reed, to authorize approval of Resolution No. 18-004: “A Resolution Submitting Advisory Questions For The General Election Ballot On November 6, 2018.” The vote was as follows: Esker, nay; Guebert, nay; Reed, aye; Hanebutt, nay; Linnertz, nay; Friess, nay; Donjon, aye. Motion failed by 2 aye - 5 nay votes.

IV. Public Comments

Council Member Donjon thanked everyone for their consideration and expressed his hope that this will continue to be discussed in public and eventually this project can move forward.

V.Adjournment

Motion made at 6:25 p.m. by Council Member Linnertz, seconded by Council Member Reed, to adjourn the meeting. The vote was as follows: all ayes. Motion carried.
