City of Red Bud Public Health and Safety Committee met August 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

Committee Members Present: Bill Hanebutt, Glenn Linnertz, Curt Guebert, Kyle Donjon

Committee Members Absent: David Friess

Council Members Present: Clem Esker, Mike Reed

Council Members Absent: Susan Harbaugh

Others Present: Mayor Tim Lowry, City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Hanebutt called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m.

Old Business:

None

New Business:

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – July 16, 2018 Meeting Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to approve the minutes from the July 16, 2018 meeting. Carried

II. Department Activity Report and Comparison Report

The monthly department activity report was included in the packets.

III. Approval to Hire Bruce Cowell – Animal Control Warden

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Donjon, to approve hiring Bruce Cowell as animal control warden, pending physical and drug test, at the current rate of pay. Carried

IV. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Chief Brittingham said there have been complaints with the music being played at the bars and that they are all operating under different ordinances. His plan is to review and take to the planning commission to standardize.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
