Monroe County passed the single referendum on its Nov. 6 ballot.
The county voted for a proposition for the Monroe Columbia Fire Protection District: "Shall the Columbia Fire Protection District levy a special tax at a rate not to exceed .30% of the value of all taxable property within the district as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue for the purpose of providing ambulance service?"
With 100 percent of the votes counted, 5,627 were in favor and 1,867 opposed the measure.
