Waterloo Community Unit School District 5 Board met Dec. 17.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

I. Roll Call, Opening Comments.

II. Executive session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity; other matters relating to individual students; and board self-evaluation. [5 ILCS120/2(c)(1)(10)(16)]

III. PUBLIC HEARING

A. A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at 7:00 p.m. regarding the proposed 2018 tax levy increase for Waterloo Community Unit School District No. 5.

IV. Pledge of Allegiance, Comments.

V. Consent Agenda.

A. Consideration to approve the minutes of the November 19, 2018 regular board meeting.

B. Consideration to approve the executive session minutes of the November 19, 2018 regular board meeting.

C. Consideration to approve maternity leave for Lauren Jensen, kindergarten teacher.

D. Consideration to reassign Zach Wheat to the position of maintenance worker, effective December 31, 2018, for the 2018-2019 school year.

E. Consideration to reassign Joshua Kurth as a half-time special education paraprofessional and a half-time early childhood special education teacher, effective for the 2018/2019 school year, pending Illinois EC Special Ed endorsement.

F. Consideration to employ Kristie Gold as a full-time custodian, effective December 19, 2018, for the 2018/2019 school year, contingent upon the results of a background check.

G. Consideration to employ Brett Brown as a full-time custodian, effective January 2, 2019, for the 2018/2019 school year, contingent upon the results of a background check.

H. Consideration to employ Thomas Clark as a full-time custodian, effective January 7, 2019 for the 2018/2019 school year, contingent upon the results of a background check.

I. Consideration to accept a letter of retirement, dated November 28, 2018, from Kay Clements, special education paraprofessional, effective at the end of the 2018-2019 school year.

VI. Motion to accept the treasurer's report, student activity reports, and to authorize investments.

VII. Motion to approve the bills.

C. Consideration to approve the extra-duty assignments, effective for the 2018/2019 school year as per recommendation from the District Athletic Director, Mitch North, and Administration.

D. Consideration to approve the volunteer list, effective for the 2018/2019 school year, as per recommendation from the District Athletic Director, Mitch North, and Administration.
