Report: Pinckneyville spent $8,721 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Pinckneyville School District 50 is up 10 percent from five years ago, according to a SW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Perry County school district spent $7,926 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,721 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 568 to 550.

Pinckneyville's spending in 2017-18 was 34.6 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
