Report: Waterloo spent $9,405 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Waterloo Community Unit School District 5 is up 6.1 percent from five years ago, according to a SW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Monroe County school district spent $8,862 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,405 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2725 to 2641.

Waterloo's spending in 2017-18 was 29.5 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
