Pinckneyville School District 50 Board met Feb. 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The president called the meeting to order and directed the secretary to take roll. The roll was taken and Austin Marlow, president and the following members were present: Kyle Pursell, Aaron Johnson, Gideon Hutchcraft, Scott Carney, Greg Conway and Craig Lazenby. Also present were the following people: Scott Wagner, Mark Rohlfing, Tyson Tanner, Barbie Templeton, Katrina Forseth, Robin Williams, Brittany McConachie, Caleb Russel, Jeff Downard, Haven Hicks, Kyle Smith, and the 8th grade boys basketball team.

A motion was made by Pursell and seconded by Conway to approve the consent agenda. Roll call vote: Yes-Lazenby, Hutchcraft, Conway, Carney, Marlow, Pursell, Johnson. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

Visitors and Committees were welcomed.

Summative Designation-1003 (a) Grant-Needs Assessment-Informational

Good News Club-Katrina Forseth and Robin Williams addressed the board about the Good News Club.

Freedom of Information – No Request

A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Hutchcraft to approve the School Work Plan as presented. Roll call vote: Yes-Lazenby, Hutchcraft, Conway, Carney, Marlow, Pursell, Johnson. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

Economic Interest Statements

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Hutchcraft to continue lawn maintenance at the Jr. High with Colin Hirsch with a two-year contract. Roll call vote: Yes-Lazenby, Hutchcraft, Conway, Carney, Marlow, Pursell, Johnson. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Lazenby to secure a bid for asphalt sealing for Pinckneyville Elementary and Jr. High. Roll call vote: Yes-Lazenby, Hutchcraft, Conway, Carney, Marlow, Pursell, Johnson. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Lazenby and seconded by Conway to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing: The appointment, employment compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the public body (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), as amended by P.A. 93-57) and Student disciplinary cases (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(9) Roll call vote: Yes-Lazenby, Hutchcraft, Conway, Carney, Marlow, Pursell, Johnson. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried. Time 8:01 p.m.

A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Lazenby to come out of executive session. Time 8:07 p.m. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Pursell and seconded by Conway to accept the resignation of Marty Wettig, Jr. High Head Softball Coach.. Roll call vote: Yes-Lazenby, Hutchcraft, Conway, Carney, Marlow, Pursell, Johnson. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Conway to hire Mallory Witges as Pinckneyville District #50 Social Worker for the 2019-2020 school year. Roll call vote: Yes-Lazenby, Hutchcraft, Conway, Carney, Marlow, Pursell, Johnson. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Lazenby and seconded by Conway to post the Jr. High Girls Head Softball coach position for the 2019-2020 school year. Roll call vote: Yes-Lazenby, Hutchcraft, Conway, Carney, Marlow, Pursell, Johnson. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Lazenby and seconded by Conway to post the Jr. High Cross-Country Coach position for the 2019-2020 school year. Roll call vote: Yes-Lazenby, Hutchcraft, Conway, Carney, Marlow, Pursell, Johnson. Yes – 7 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Pursell to adjourn. Yes-7, No-0. Motion carried.
