Monroe County Board of County Commissioners met March 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The special meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Illinois was called to order at 2:05 p.m. Chairman Robert Elmore, Commissioner Vicki Koerber and Commissioner Ron Schultheis were present. Others present included County Clerk Jonathan McLean and State’s Attorney Chris Hitzemann.

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll call was taken by County Clerk Jonathan McLean. There being a quorum present, the meeting was called to order by Chairman Elmore.

A motion was made by Commissioner Koerber to go in to closed session for the purpose of discussion of employment matters. Second by Commissioner Schultheis. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried. Resolution was recorded as #19-44. The Board entered closed meeting at 2:12 p.m.

Commissioner Koerber made the motion to come out of closed meeting. Second by Commissioner Schultheis. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried. Resolution to come out of closed meeting was recorded as #19-45. The Board came out of closed meeting at 4:20 p.m.

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to give Chairman Elmore the authority to hire a human resource specialist with the assistance of State’s Attorney Chris Hitzemann. Second by Commissioner Schultheis. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried.

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to adjourn. Second by Commissioner Schultheis. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried.
