Pinckneyville School District 50 Board March 21 met March 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The vice-president called the meeting to order and directed the secretary to take roll. The roll was taken and Kyle Pursell,vice president and the following members were present: Scott Carney, Aaron Johnson and Gideon Hutchcraft. Greg Conway, Austin Marlow and Craig Lazenby were not in attendance. Also present were the following people: Scott Wagner, Barbie Templeton and Tyson Tanner.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Hutchcraft to approve the consent agenda. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

Visitors and Committees were welcomed.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Hutchcraft to accept the bid from Egyptian Asphalt and Seal Coating at the cost of $29,000 for asphalt sealing, patching and striping for Pinckneyville Elementary and Jr. High. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

Freedom of Information Request – No Request

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Hutchcraft to change the April Board Meeting date to Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Hutchcraft to set eighth grade graduation as Friday, May 17, 2019. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

February/March Policy Manual Revisions - Informational

A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Carney to enter into an agreement with Rend Lake College for an AmeriCorp worker at the match price contribution of $3,000 for 2019-2020. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Johnson to adopt the AED plan as presented. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Hutchcraft to adopt the Pest Management Plan as presented. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Hutchcraft to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing: The appointment, employment, conpensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the public body (5ILCS120/2(c)(1), as amended by P.A. 93-57) and Student disciplinary cases (5 ILCS 12-0/2(c)(9) and to discuss collective negotiating matters between public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberatons concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2). Time 7:21 p.m. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Carney, Johnson and Hutchcraft. Yes –4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Johnson to come out of executive session. Time 7:35 p.m. Yes –4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Johnson to accept the resignation of Chelsea Baumann, Jr. High Girls Head Basketball Coach and Dana Kellerman assistant Jr. High Softball Coach. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Hutchcraft to accept the resignation of Meghan Pyatt, 6th grade teacher Pinckneyville Jr. High at the end of the 2018-19 School Year. Roll call vote: Yes – Hutchcraft, Johnson, Carney. Abstain-Pursell. Yes –3 No – 0 Abstain-1. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Hutchcraft to hire Brittany McConachie, Jr. High Cross Country Coach for 2019-2020 School Year. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried. A motion was made by Hutchcraft and seconded by Johnson to grant tenure to Amber Nichols at the conclusion of the 2018-2019 school year. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Johnson to re-employ all tenure teachers for the 2019-20 school year. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Johnson to re-employ all non-tenure teachers for the 2019-20 school year. Jenna Pfau, Lauren Piper, Kathleen Kelley, Dana Kellerman, Lexy Travelstead, Stephanie Bushno, Lauren Hicks, Wendy Bauersachs, Sarah Hutchcraft, Jayci Barnett and Kyle Smith for the 2019-2020 school year. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Carney, Johnson. Abstain-Hutchcraft. Yes – 3 No – 0 Abstain-1. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Johnson to hire the Law Firm Tueth Kenney for negotiation purposes. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Johnson to adopt a resolution of Non-Renewal for Jeanene Halsted after the 2018-19 school year. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Johnson to post the Jr. High Girls Head Basketball coach and Assistant Softball Coach positions for the 2019-2020 school year. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes – 4 No – 0. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Carney and seconded by Johnson to post a sixth grade teaching position at the Jr. High and an elementary teaching position at Pinckneyville Elementary for the 2019-2020 school year. Roll call vote: Yes – Pursell, Hutchcraft, Carney and Johnson. Yes –4 No – 0. Motion carried.
