Q1 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Perry County?

There were seven offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Perry County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by SW Illinois News.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Perry County were men. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 41. The youngest parolee was a 26-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017, and the oldest was a 57-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Justin K. Martin. He was convicted of a property crime in 2016 when he was 37 years old. He is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Perry County municipality.
