City of Red Bud Public Health and Safety Committee met June 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Bill Hanebutt, Mike Rheinecker, Curt Guebert, David Friess, Kyle Donjon

Committee Members Absent:

Council Members Present: Clem Esker, Jeremy DeMond, Susan Harbaugh

Others Present: City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller, Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Others Absent: Mayor Tim Lowry

Committee Chairman Hanebutt called the meeting to order at 7:04 P.M.

Old Business

I. Dispatching Services

Chief Brittingham said he and Poetker had attended a meeting at the Sherriff’s office. The Sherriff’s intent is to charge $14 per CAD, which would amount to under $20,000, at last years’ rate of calls. Brittingham will continue to look at options. The Sherriff is proposing a July, 2020 effective date, with the first billing in January 2021. This will be left on the agenda.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – May 20, 2019 Meeting

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Rheinecker, to approve the minutes from the May 20, 2019 meeting. Carried

II. Departmental Activity Report

The monthly department activity report was included in the packets.

III. Authorization to Purchase Six Ballistics Vests – NTE $3,600

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Friess, to approve the purchase of six ballistics vests, NTE $3,600. Carried

IV. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

None

Meeting was adjourned at 7:13 P.M.
