PYATT FUNERAL HOME - PINCKNEYVILLE: Doris E. Magerkurth

Pyatt Funeral Home - Pinckneyville recently issued the following announcement.

Doris E. Magerkurth, age 86, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 12:40 a.m. in Friendship Manor Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Nashville, IL blanketed in the circle of love of her family.

Doris was born September 30, 1933 in Pinckneyville, IL a daughter to Thomas Henry and Hilda Bessie (Bernaix) Gaston, Sr. On February 3, 1951 she married Roy Leo “Pete” Magerkurth at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on April 23, 1995. Doris was a member of the Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and was a homemaker. She was a Sunday School teacher and loved reading. Doris loved being a mother to her children and to all that knew her

Survivors include her son, Phil Magerkurth of Pinckneyville, IL; one daughter, Dr. Amy Elaine Fisher of Litchfield, IL; two grandchildren, Holly (Mike) Hall and Sarah Fisher; four great-grandchildren, Lily, Gannon, Garret and Griffin Hall; one cousin/sister, Kay Davis of Herrin, IL; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Mark and Charles W. “Chuck” Magerkurth; four brothers, Thomas “Jr.” Gaston, Richard Gaston, Ronald Gaston and David Gaston; five sisters, Lorraine Denney, Lucille Bardle, Mary Hahn, Glenda Thomas and Diana Gaston.

A memorial service will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating.

Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Friendship Manor Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Nashville, IL.
