City of Red Bud Public Health and Safety Committee met Sept. 16.

Committee Chairman Hanebutt called the meeting to order at 7:13 P.M.
Old Business
I.Dispatching Services Update
Chief Brittingham said he had met with the Sherriff and the cost of the dispatching services is estimated to be around $8,000. Remove from agenda.
New Business
I.Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – August 19, 2019 Meeting
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Donjon, to approve the minutes from the August 19, 2019 meeting. Carried
II.Departmental Activity Report
The monthly department activity report was included in the packets.
III.Authorization to Hire Mike Collins as Full-Time Patrolman
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Rheinecker, to approve hiring Mike Collins as full-time patrolman at the current rate of pay. Carried
IV.Recreational Marijuana Sales
Attorney Ray submitted a list of questions to consider, regarding the cannabis use laws going into effect January 1, 2020. This will have to go through a planning commission hearing. Leave on the agenda.
V.Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City
There has been some public concern expressed about pulling out from Bloom Street to East Market, with all the cars parked along East Market. This will be added to the agenda for future discussion.
