Pinckneyville Community High School District 101 Board of Education met Sept. 23.

The Board of Education of Pinckneyville Community High School District #101, Perry County, Illinois, met in a regular session on the 23rd of September, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pinckneyville Community High School in that district. The following officers and members of the Board were present: Greg Thompson, President, Brian Kellerman, Jeff Suchomski, Jennifer Robb, and Lisa Stanton, Secretary. Keith Hagene, Superintendent, Tony Wilson, Principal, and Penny Corn, recording secretary, were also present.
The Pledge of Allegiance was conducted and PCHS Mission Statement was read by President Greg Thompson.
It was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Brian Kellerman to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call: Jeff Suchomski, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Brian Kellerman, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; and Jennifer Robb, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
Visitors present: Marilyn Smith, Zach Martin, Ethan Baggett, Saydee Loos, Lane Ferrari, Riana McGlinn, Austin McAllister, Steve Tripi, and Stuart Morgenstern.
Visitors were welcomed and invited to address the Board. No comments were made.
Mr. Wilson introduced the FFA horse judging team that won the State title recently. He praised them and our FFA program for their dedication and success in just a short time. He also praised Riana McGlinn for placing 2nd in State individually in horse judging. These were the highest honors achieved in at least 35 years. Zach Martin was introduced with accolades for being part of the duo who won the FLW High School National angler qualifier. They have qualified for the National competition which will be held in June next year.
Mr. Hagene presented facilities updates and presented FY20 tentative budget updates.
The budget has been on display for more than 30 days. A budget hearing was conducted with no comments made.
Having held a public budget hearing and having heard public testimony about the FY20 budget, it was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Lisa Stanton to adopt the Fiscal Year 2020 budget as presented. Roll call: Jeff Suchomski, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Brian Kellerman, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; and Jennifer Robb, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
Steve Tripi was present to give the Independent Auditors report, giving PCHS a clean report.
It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Brian Kellerman to accept the findings presented in the independent financial audit as presented. Roll call: Jeff Suchomski, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Brian Kellerman, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; and Jennifer Robb, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
There were no FOIA requests this month.
Mrs. Smith requested a Spanish Club trip to St. Louis for an exhibit on November 2.
It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Brian Kellerman to approve the overnight and out of state trips as presented. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
Mr. Hagene presented our Risk Management Plan. He then explained the details of the Fund Transfer Resolution.
It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Jennifer Robb to adopt Resolution R-2019-11, authorizing the inter-fund loan of $170,000 from Working Cash Fund 70 to Fire Prevention and Safety Fund 90 as presented. Roll call: Jeff Suchomski, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; Brian Kellerman, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; and Jennifer Robb, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Jeff Suchomski to accept the resignation of Bev Logan as school custodian as presented. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Jennifer Robb to adjourn the meeting at 7:33 pm. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
