TAMAROA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: We learned about the rock cycle

K12 schools stock 01

Tamaroa Elementary School issued the following announcement on Jan. 28.

We learned about the rock cycle. The starbursts represent magma. Student use scissors to represent weathering and erosion on the rocks, breaking them into sediments. Taking the pieces and smashing them together, applying heat and pressure changes the igneous rock into sedimentary rock.

The last part of the lab involved melting the rock, changing it back to magma. The magma cooled and hardened into igneous rock.
