Waterloo Community Unit School District No. 5 Board of Education met April 20.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

I. Roll Call, Opening Comments.

II. Executive session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. [5 ILCS120/2(c)(1)]

III. Pledge of Allegiance, Comments.

IV. PUBLIC HEARING

A. Public Hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of the Amended FY2019-2020 School District Budget.

V. Consent Agenda.

A. Consideration to approve the minutes of the March 16, 2020 regular board meeting.

B. Consideration to approve the executive session minutes of the March 16, 2020 regular board meeting.

C. Consideration to authorize the Superintendent to advertise for bids for paper products for the 2020-2021 school year.

D. Consideration to authorize the Director of Buildings and Grounds to advertise for bids for trash containers/pickup for the 2020-2021 school year.

E. Consideration to authorize full payment of salaries on or before June 15, 2020 for all employees not returning to the District for the 2020-2021 school year.

F. Consideration to accept a letter of resignation, dated March 13, 2020, from Karl Probst, cafeteria worker, effective March 13, 2020.

G. Consideration to accept a letter of resignation, dated March 30, 2020, from Elizabeth Mifflin, speech language pathologist, effective at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

H. Consideration to accept a letter of resignation, dated March 30, 2020, from Krista Niemietz, JH math teacher, effective at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

I. Consideration to accept a letter of resignation, dated April 13, 2020, from Stacy Schmieg, special education paraprofessional, effective at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

J. Consideration to accept a letter of retirement, dated April 15, 2020, from Renee Krispin, special education teacher, effective at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

VI. Motion to accept the treasurer's report, student activity reports, and to authorize investments.

VII. Motion to approve the bills.

C. Consideration to employ one full-time JH social science teacher, for the 2020-2021 school year, effective August 11, 2020, contingent upon the results of a background check and TB test.

D. Consideration to employ one full-time HS math teacher, for the 2020-2021 school year, effective August 11, 2020, contingent upon the results of a background check and TB test.

E. Consideration to employ one full-time speech language pathologist, for the 2020-2021 school year, effective August 11, 2020, contingent upon licensure and the results of a background check and TB test.

F. Consideration to employ one full-time speech language pathologist, for the 2020-2021 school year, effective August 11, 2020, contingent upon licensure and the results of a background check and TB test.

G. Consideration to employ one full-time District Athletic Director and Waterloo High School Dean of Students, for the 2020-2021 school year, effective August 11, 2020, contingent upon the results of a background check and TB test.

H. Action upon dismissal of an ESP employee.
