City of Columbia Public Library Board met April 7.

A special online meeting of the Columbia Public Library was called to order at 7:00 by President Dan Bruton. Those attending electronically were Annette Bland, Kathleen Habermehl, Dan Brutton, Cindy Waldemer, Diane Stechmesser, Shane Watson, Barry Krizan, Chris Trowbridge, and David Jackson. James Mitchell was initially present from City as tech advisor.
Public Comment
Members of the public were given notice of the meeting with instructions for attending virtually and submitting comments. No comments were submitted.
Purpose
The purpose of meeting was to discuss
1. Continued closure due to COVID 19
2. Employee pay during COVID 19 closure
3. Employee return to work
Motion
Decisions were made after discussion of different options available and taking in account the Governor’s directive that libraries were non-essential businesses and would remain closed until April 30th.
Diane Stechmesser made motion that the library should remain closed with staff working from home if possible. Employees would be paid retroactive to March 23 through April 30. David Jackson seconded. Motion passed.
These decisions will again be reviewed during a special meeting at the end of the month. The regularly scheduled meeting will be Tuesday April 14, 2020.

Cindy Waldemer made motion to adjourn meeting. Kathleen Habermehl seconded. Meeting adjourned at 7:35.
