Analysis: Du Quoin pays $5.41 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Duquoin Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.4 percent of the $343,901 the Duquoin Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.41 for every $1 from pension members, according to a SW Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Du Quoin contributed $290,303 to the fund, which saw a $17,673 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $53,598, or 15.6 percent, in 2018.
