Analysis: Du Quoin pays $7.35 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Duquoin Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88 percent of the $341,283 the Duquoin Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $7.35 for every $1 from pension members, according to a SW Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Du Quoin contributed $300,445 to the fund, which saw a $4,995 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $40,839, or 12 percent, in 2018.
