Analysis: Chester pays $2.98 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Chester Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74.9 percent of the $183,171 the Chester Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.98 for every $1 from pension members, according to a SW Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Chester contributed $137,218 to the fund, which saw a $5,285 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $45,954, or 25.1 percent, in 2018.
