Pinckneyville Community High School District #101 Board of Education met June 22.

The Board of Education of Pinckneyville Community High School District #101, Perry County, Illinois, met in a regular session at 6:30 p.m. at the Pinckneyville Community High School in that district. The following officers and members of the Board were present: Greg Thompson, President, Brian Kellerman, Jeff Suchomski, Jennifer Robb, and Kyle Pursell. Lisa Stanton arrived at 6:32. Greg Bigham was absent. Tony Wilson, Principal, and Keith Hagene, Superintendent, was also present.
It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Brian Kellerman to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
Visitors present were Stuart Morgenstern and Marilyn Smith. Visitors were welcomed and invited to address the Board. No comments were made.
Mr. Wilson provided updates on the retirement celebration for Mr. Joey Vancil. Special Education teacher, Kathy Patterson, was honored by the Pinckneyville Chamber of Commerce as Educator of the Year. He also reported an overview of the graduation ceremonies being planned for June 28, 29, and 30.
Mr. Hagene reported on the current status of the FY21 budget process.
It was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Kyle Pursell to adopt the FY20 Amended Budget as presented. Roll call: Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
There were no FOIA requests this month.
Mr. Hagene and Mr. Wilson will begin to draft language to implement temporary student handbook policy changes for the upcoming school year.
It was moved by Jennifer Robb and seconded by Brian Kellerman to approve the Title I Grant Application for the 2020 – 2021 school year. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
Mr. Wilson discussed the Master Schedule as it stands now. He noted that the schedule may change when we near the start of the school year.
It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Lisa Stanton to employ Brevin Teel as part- time summer custodial help for up to twenty hours per week at current minimum wage. Roll call: Lisa Stanton, yes; Greg Thompson, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Kyle Pursell to accept the retirement of Ms. Wanda Camp as Attendance Secretary. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Lisa Stanton to adjourn the meeting at 7:17 p.m. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
