Agenda
1) Petitions by Citizens Non-Agenda Items

2) Update on Water Plant
John Wieter provided an update on the Water Plant, covering the following items.
• Valmeyer is 100 Feet higher in elevation than Waterloo, that means Water flowing from the Plant to the Million Gallon Storage Tank on Moore Street will be gravity fed requiring no Pumps.
• Current estimate for EPA Money is June 2021
• The City needs to confirm Contract End Date with Illinois American
• Part of the Testing process for the New Plant will require an existing 2-foot section of lead pipe (The City will need to identify and locate this)
• Total Estimated Water Plant Cost is $19,219,600.
• 100% of the cost is available through the EPA Loan
• Probable Date for completion December 2022
3) Water Tower
The 2 types of Water Towers discussed was a Pedosphere (Golf Ball) and Composite Elevated. Both would be 500,000 Gallons and 190 Feet Tall. For best water quality, Water should flow from Valmeyer to the million-gallon storage tank on Moore Street then directly to the Elevated Water Tower. Placement of the Proposed Water Tower should be in the vicinity of the Storage Tank. Possible locations would be Fire Station Property or VFW. There is an existing 16-inch water line under Veterans Drive and a 10-inch water line under Moore. Estimated Cost for the favored Composite Elevated Tank is $2.3 Million This project would be added to the Water Plant Project and EPA Money for construction
4) Comments
Jeremy Hill will be offered the Water Operator Position on June 23, 2020
Motion made by Jim Hopkins to adjourn, 2nd by Russ Thomas, meeting adjourned at 4:24pm.
