Sparta home prices fall in the first half of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2019 in Sparta fell by $10,900 while total sales increased by 73.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2019, there were 26 homes sold, with a median sale price of $68,100 - a 13.8% decrease over the $79,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 15 homes sold in Sparta in the first half of 2018.

The median sales tax in Sparta for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $1,346, approximately 2% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2019.
