Sparta home prices fall in August 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in August 2018 in Sparta fell by $17,600 while total sales increased by 200%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In August 2018, there were six homes sold, with a median sale price of $44,000 - a 28.6% decrease over the $61,600 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were two homes sold in Sparta in August 2017.

The median sales tax in Sparta for 2018 was $1,346. In 2017, the median sales tax was $1,212. This marks an increase of 11.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 3.1%.
