Sparta home prices rise in May 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in May 2018 in Sparta rose by $6,500 while total sales decreased by 77.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In May 2018, there were two homes sold, with a median sale price of $71,500 - a 10% increase over the $65,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were nine homes sold in Sparta in May 2017.

The median sales tax in Sparta for 2018 was $1,346. In 2017, the median sales tax was $1,212. This marks an increase of 11.1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.9%.
