City of Waterloo Downtown Beautification Committee met July 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Attendance : Aldermen Trantham, Thomas, Notheisen, Darter, Hopkins of the committee. Plus Mayor Smith, Sarah Deutch, Shawn Kennedy , Nathan Krebel , Andy Hrdlicka, and Jillian Woolsey from Summit Signs.

Meeting called to order @ 6:30 pm

1.PETITIONS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS: None

2.CITY of WATERLOO WELCOME SIGNS: Packets from Summit Signs were distributed. Discussion of designs. Motion Notheisen, second Darter, to accept "option 2” (copy attached )) with the following modifications.a) raising the base.b) remove the words COME AGAIN.c) install bird nest determent.d) remove the period after the word 'Germany'.

Motion pass 5-0

3.FACADE GRANT APPLICATION : Gary Brinkman @ 221 & 223 W. MILL Copies of the project description distributed. Inspector Krebel stated that the tuckpointing on this project has been completed prior to grant application submittal,; therefore, that cost will not be reimbursed. Discussion. The application had incomplete costs for the work, and he was directed to bring back to the committee at a later date for review.

4.COMMENTS: Mayor Smith stated Patrick Clark (KTVI channel 2) called City Hall and will be doing a feature story on the Kaskaskia / Cahokia Trail

Motion by Notheisen, second by Darter, to adjourn. Pass 5-0 

Meeting adjourned @ 7:10 pm
