Hecker Fire Protection District responded to 21 calls in 2018 - 10.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Hecker included 16 fires - 12 structure fires, two vehicle fires and two other fires.

In all, the department saw $150,500 in fire loss - or about $9,406 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.

The Hecker Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $107,873 in 2018.
