City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Advisory Board met July 28.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER

The Parks a Recreation Advisory Board meeting of the City of Columbia, Illinois was called to order by Chairman Joe Sander at 5:00 P.M.

Members Present: Joe Sander, David Bernhard, Courtney Castelli, Kathi Boyer-Edwards, Sarah Clarke, Becky Hunt, Lauren Darr Goined at 5:04 p.m.)

Members Absent: Chris Becker, Molly Williamson

Quorum Present.

City Staff a Officials Present: Scott Dunakey, Alderman Mary Ellen Niemietz

Guests present: Paul Jordan, President of Columbia Athletic Association

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Minutes of the Tuesday, February 25, 2020 Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Meeting were submitted for approval. Chairman Sander noted one correction: Mike Sander of City staff was not listed as present.

MOTION: It was moved by Dave Bernhard and seconded by Sarah Clarke to approve the minutes of the Tuesday, February 25, 2020 Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meeting with corrections. Upon a roll call vote, MOTION CARRIED 6-0.

3. NEW BUSINESS

a. Columbia Athletic Association (CAA) Proposal for Ballfield Improvements Paul Jordan, CAA President, presented a proposal to cover ballfield dugouts. Initially, covers will be a vinyl tarp material, which will be replaced with permanent aluminum covers over several years. Capital improvements made by the CAA are subject to City approval.

MOTION: It was moved by Sarah Clarke and seconded by Dave Bernhard to recommend approval of the proposal as presented. Upon a roll call vote, MOTION CARRIED 7-0.

b. Scott Dunakey, Director of Community Development presented project status updates on Creekside Park development and GM a O Trail projects.

6. ADJOURN

With no further business to discuss, Chairman Sander entertained a motion to adjourn.

MOTION:_Motion to adjourn was made by Lauren Darr and seconded by Courtney Castelli. " Upon a roll call vote, MOTION CARRIED 7-0.

The meeting adjourned at 5:24 P.M.
