Monroe County Board of County Commissioners met Oct. 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting of the County Commissioners of Monroe County, Illinois was called to order at 9:15am by Chairman Robert Elmore.

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

County Clerk Jonathan McLean called the roll. Chairman Robert Elmore, Commissioner Vicki Koerber, and Commissioner Dennis Knobloch were present.

Chairman Elmore asked for public comments. There were no public comments.

The following Accounts Payable and Payroll having been approved for payment, Commissioner Koerber moved that the same be allowed and that vouchers be issued against their respective funds of the County Treasurer for payment. Motion seconded by Commissioner Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried.

Commissioner Knobloch made a motion to approve the Oak Hill accounts payable report. Second by Commissioner Koerber. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried.

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve the CTCL COVID-19 grant for the November 3, 2020 election. Second by Commissioner Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried.

Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve an application for courtyard/bandstand use for the 2021 Waterloo Porta Wesfalica Fest. Second by Commissioner Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried.

Brian Koontz came before the Board to provide a report on operations at the nursing home.

Aaron Metzger came before the Board. A resolution to approve the ITEP grant application for the North Waterloo Pedestrian Crossing Project was presented for approval. Commissioner Knobloch made a motion to approve. Second by Commissioner Koerber. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried. Resolution #20-99

A resolution to approve the ITEP grant application for the Bluff Road bike lane project was presented for approval. Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve. Second by Commissioner Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried. Resolution #20-100

A resolution to approve the Bluff Road/HH Road sight obstruction mitigation property transfer was presented for approval. Commissioner Koerber made a motion to approve. Second by Commissioner Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried. Resolution #20-101

A resolution to purchase a Ford Transit Van with a power lift and stretcher, not to exceed $143,879, was presented for approval. Motion to approve by Commissioner Koerber. Second by Commissioner Knobloch. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried. Resolution #20-102

John Wagner came before the Board to provide an update on the health department response to COVID- 19.

There being no further business to come before the Board, motion by Commissioner Knobloch to adjourn. Second by Chairman Elmore. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried.
