Commissioners’ Comments:
Genesio- Happy Birthday to Jill and Ruth. The Water Department is addressing Sewer Main problems on E. North Street. They have ran cameras and discovered root balls that are in the processing of being removed. The EPA has also completed another inspection of lines and indicated the City is in violation on several issues on long term projects. They are issues from up to 15 years ago and it is now at the critical point of fixing or receiving violations from the EPA.
Ward- Happy Birthday ladies and Happy Anniversary Mayor.
Karnes- Happy Anniversary Mayor and Happy Birthday ladies. The City is sponsoring a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event October 3, 2020 from 8:00am to 3:00pm at the Middle School. The City is getting the youth from the High School involved with community service to work the event. Everyone is welcome to bring items on the list.
Kirkpatrick- Happy Birthday Ruth, Happy Anniversary Mayor and first lady.
Mayor- Happy Birthday ladies. Tax bills will be mailed Thursday with first installment due December 7. Congratulations and thank you for service to Gerry Whitley. He retired from many years in the reserves over the weekend. An overview of Tax Revenue shortfalls for the year was provided to the commissioners. Noted was that the FOP contract is up for negotiations. Payroll is 87% of the City’s expenditures. When revenues are down, there isn’t much room to make cuts but the City is addressing the shortfall.
Hale – Happy Birthday Jill. The HHW event information can be located on the City’s website and Facebook page.
