Pinckneyville Community High School District #101 Board of Education Met Sept. 28.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Pinckneyville Community High School District #101, Perry County, Illinois, met in a regular session at 6:34 p.m. at the Pinckneyville Community High School in that district. The following officers and members of the Board were present: Brian Kellerman, Greg Bigham, Jeff Suchomski (joined at 6:38), Jennifer Robb participated via video-conference, Lisa Stanton (joined at 6:40) and Kyle Pursell were present via telephone. Greg Thompson was absent. Tony Wilson, Principal, and Keith Hagene, Superintendent, were also present.

It was moved by Greg Bigham and seconded by Kyle Pursell to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call: Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

Visitor Stuart Morgenstern was welcomed by the Board. No comments were made.

Mr. Wilson reported on the first 39 days of school under the Return to School Plan, and the sports activities taking place under the current restrictions.

Mr. Hagene reported that the facilities repair and improvement plans that were placed on hold during the summer of 2020 will be revisited in October, and a schedule for summer of 2021 will be developed.

A seconded reading of Policy updates was conducted.

It was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Greg Bigham to approve policy updates 104 and 105 as presented. Roll call: Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Greg Bigham and seconded by Kyle Pursell to adopt the Memorandum of Agreement between Pinckneyville Community High School District #101 and Pinckneyville High School Education Association concerning the PERA evaluation process for the 2020-2021 school year. Roll call: Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Jennifer Robb and seconded by Greg Bigham to adopt the Memorandum of Agreement between Pinckneyville Community High School District #101 and the Pinckneyville High School Education Association concerning Remote Instruction Flexibility for the 2020-2021 school year. Roll call: Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

Mr. Hagene provided an overview of the budget presentation for FY21, and the Board held a hearing for public comment on the proposed budget. There were no comments or questions.

Having held a public budget hearing and having heard public testimony about the FY21 budget, it was moved by Lisa Stanton and seconded by Kyle Pursell to adopt the Fiscal Year 2021 budget as presented. Roll call: Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

There were no FOIA requests this month.

It was moved by Greg Bigham and seconded by Jennifer Robb to approve the purchase of a 2021 Blue Bird, 71 passenger conventional bus from Central States Bus Sales for $88,730. Roll call: Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Jeff Suchomski, yes; Lisa Stanton, yes; and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Kyle Pursell to adjourn the meeting at 6:58 p.m. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
