Tamaroa School District 5 Board of Education met Nov. 17

e-Learning Public Hearing

ROLL CALL: Present – Stein, Doerflein, Restoff, Melton, Phillips 

Absent- Terry, George

Visitors – Erica Hicks, Superintendent Intern & Kerri Schoenbacher, Athletic Director

MOTION: by Doerflein, second by Melton to approve Minutes of October Meeting (Open & Closed)

Five in favor, none opposed

MOTION: by Melton, second by Phillips to approve the Payment of Bills.

MOTION: by Doerflein, second by Phillips to approve Treasurer’s Report. 

ROLL CALL: Stein, yea; Doerflein, yea; Restoff, yea; Melton, yea; Phillips, yea.

MOTION: by Doerflein, second by Restoff to enter into Closed Session at 6:13p.m.for the purpose of appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees and/or matters relating to individual students. Five in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by Doerflein, second by Melton to exit Closed Session at 6:34p.m. Five in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by Doerflein, second by Melton to approve the Levy Abatement Resolution. 

ROLL CALL: Stein, yea; Doerflein, yea; Restoff, yea; Melton, yea; Phillips, yea.

MOTION: by Doerflein, second by Melton to approve the Tentative Levy Increase of 10.62%

ROLL CALL: Stein, yea; Doerflein, yea; Restoff, yea; Melton, yea; Phillips, yea.

MOTION: by Doerflein, second by Phillips to approve the e-Learning Plan. Five in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by Melton, second by Phillips to approve the Superintendent Vacation Days for 11/24, 1/19, and 2/16.

Five in favor, none opposed.

The Christmas Program Recommendation is that it be recorded without spectators for the safety of our students and community during COVID-19.

MOTION: by Doerflein, second by Phillips to accept the proposal of Security Alarm. Five in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by Melton, second by Doerflein to approve the Chromebook Policy. Five in favor, none opposed.

The School App and Website Proposal was unanimously agreed upon as not appropriate for the budget at this time.

MOTION: by Phillips, second by Melton to accept the 3yr Resignation Notice of Peter Omiotek from the Art/PE Instructor Postion.

Five in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by Doerflein, second by Restoff to accept the 3yr Resignation Notice of Steve Bailey from the Custodian Position.

Five in favor, none opposed.

MOTION: by Melton, second by Restoff to accept the 1yr Resignation Notice of Georgia Lamke from the Assistant Cook Position.

Five in favor, none opposed.

The Official Levy Hearing will be held on December 15th at 5:45pm in the Tamaroa Grade School Media Center. Social Distancing Guidelines will be followed by everyone in attendance.

The next Board of Education Meeting is set for December 15th at 6:00pm, immediately following the Levy Hearing.

MOTION: by Doerflein, second by Phillips to adjourn.
