City Of Columbia issued the following announcement on Mar. 17.
Sign, sign, everywhere a sign!
It’s that time of year when yard sale, event and campaign signs start popping up. As a friendly reminder, here are a few guidelines on displaying temporary signs of all types:
They are not allowed on public right-of-way. In most cases, this means to put the sign on the yard side of the sidewalk, not the street side.
Size is limited to 4 square feet in residential zoning districts, which covers the standard size yard sign.
Size is limited to 16 square feet (equals 4 ft X 4 ft) in non-residential zoning districts.
Signs that exceed the size limits are only allowed by way of temporary sign permit approval.
Support your favorite sales, events and candidates, but please help us keep Columbia looking good!
