City of Red Bud Public Health and Safety Committee Met Jan. 18.

Committee Members Present: Bill Hanebutt, Mike Rheinecker, Curt Guebert, Rodney Nevois, Kyle Donjon

Committee Members Absent:

Council Members Present: Jeremy DeMond, Susan Harbaugh, Clem Esker

Others Present: Mayor Tim Lowry, City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Administrator Jeff Mueller (Remote), Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker

Others Absent: City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Committee Chairman Hanebutt called the meeting to order at 6:38 P.M.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – December 21, 2020 

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Rheinecker, to approve the minutes from the December 21, 2020 meeting. Carried

II. Departmental Activity Report

The monthly department activity report was included in the packets. Because of new laws there will be more training requirements. There have been nineteen UTV permits issued.

III. CURE Act Ordinance No. 1453

Ordinance required to participate in COVID related salary/equipment cost reimbursement. Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Hanebutt, seconded by Committee Member Rheinecker, to authorize approval of Ordinance No. 1453, “AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE LOCAL CURE PROGRAM.” Carried

IV. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City

Alderwoman Harbaugh mentioned that she has had complaints of speeding on McCarthy St. and in SKK subdivision. Chief Brittingham said they have been patrolling those areas, but it is not happening when they are sitting there.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:45 P.M.
