Pinckneyville Community High School District 101 Board of Education Met March 22.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Pinckneyville Community High School District #101, Perry County, Illinois, met in a regular session at 6:30 p.m. at the Pinckneyville Community High School in that district. The following officers and members of the Board were present: President Greg Thompson, Brian Kellerman, Jennifer Robb, Greg Bigham, Kyle Pursell, and Jeff Suchomski. Superintendent Keith Hagene, Principal Tony Wilson, and Secretary Penny Corn, were also present.

It was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Kyle Pursell to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

Visitors present: Marilyn Smith, Hudson Kreger, and Stuart Morgenstern.

Visitors were invited to address the Board. Hudson Kreger asked if the students will be allowed to have prom since Illinois Covid guidelines have begun to change.

Mr. Wilson gave a report on the sports programs that have recently become underway, and student achievement.

Mr. Hagene reported on the CTE Innovation Grant, and the state funding situation. He then commented on details of improvements being planned around the building.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Brian Kellerman to approve the proposal for Science Lab improvements from J & R Mechanical for $21,844. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Greg Bigham and seconded by Jeff Suchomski to approve the proposal for Thomas Gym Office flooring repairs and replacement from Missouri Terrazzo for $19,990. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Jennifer Robb and seconded by Kyle Pursell to approve the 2021-2022 school year calendar as presented. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.

Mr. Hagene went over general information concerning FOIA requests.

It was moved by Jennifer Robb and seconded by Jeff Suchomski to enter closed session at 7:04 pm for the purposes of discussing appointment, employment, compensation and performance of personnel. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Jennifer Robb to return to open session at 7:20 pm. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Jennifer Robb and seconded by Brian Kellerman to accept the resignation of Mr. Clint Brannon as Route Bus Driver at Pinckneyville Community High School #101 as presented. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Kyle Pursell to employ Mrs. Cindy Konkel as Route Bus Driver as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Brian Kellerman to approve Mr. Austin Alspach as JV Volunteer Baseball Assistant. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Brian Kellerman and seconded by Kyle Pursell to employ Mr. Grant Kelly as JV Baseball Coach as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Greg Bigham to employ Mr. Logan Spain as Head Football Coach as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Jennifer Robb and seconded by Kyle Pursell to employ Mr. Bill Segelhorst as Science Department Chair. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Kyle Pursell to employ Mrs. Casey Giacomo as ASES Sponsor. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Greg Bigham to employ Mr. Logan Spain as Health/Physical Education Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Brian Kellerman to employ Mr. Lane Woodside as Social Studies Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Jeff Suchomski and seconded by Kyle Pursell to enter into the Administrative Contract with Mr. Tony Wilson as presented. Roll call: Greg Thompson, yes; Greg Bigham, yes; Kyle Pursell, yes; Jennifer Robb, yes; Jeff Suchomski, and Brian Kellerman, yes. All ayes. Motion carried.

It was moved by Kyle Pursell and seconded by Greg Bigham to adjourn the meeting at 7:36 pm. Voice vote. All ayes. Motion carried.
