Monroe County Board of County Commissioners Met June 23.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The special meeting of the County Commissioners of Monroe County, Illinois was called to order at 9:30 a.m. by Chairman Vicki Koerber.

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Chairman Vicki Koerber, Commissioner Dennis Knobloch and Commissioner George Green were present.

Others present were Sheila Wetzler, County Clerk Jonathan McLean, and Pat Kelly.

Chairman Vicki Koerber asked for public comments. There were no public comments.

Discussion of the County Code continued with Chapter 14. The Board has been going through each chapter of the code in preparation of adopting a revised County Code. 

Chapter 14, Flood Plain Code, will not be changed.

There was discussion about adding a chapter 20, land resource department. It was decided that this chapter will not be incorporated in to the County Code at this time.

Chairman Koeber proposed that the Board schedule a special meeting on July 12 at 9:00 a.m. to discuss the following chapters with department heads being present:

Dennis Knobloch - Chapter #18 - Health Code and New Chapter #26 - Nursing Home

Lucas Liefer, Chapter #21 – Revise Liquor Code

Lucas Liefer and Neal Rohlfing, Chapter #27 – Offenses, Chapter #25 – Nuisances, Chapter #24 - Motor

Vehicle Code, and Chapter #19 – Jail.

Laura Henry - Chapter #23 - Mapping and Platting and Chapter #34 – Subdivision Code.

There being no further business to come before the Board, a motion was made by Commissioner Knobloch to adjourn. Second by Commissioner Green. All voting Aye. None Nay. None Absent. Motion carried.
