Village of Hecker Village Board met May 11.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

President Charles Kujawski called the regular Board Meeting to order. After reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, Board member Rich Happel swore in Annette Schreder as Village Clerk.

Village Clerk Annette Schreder then swore in President Charles Kujawski and elected Officials Arnold Eckart and Gary Wittenauer.

Roll Call was then taken with the following members present: Charles Kujawski, Rich Happel, Trisha Maddox, Arnold Eckart, Douglas Van Buren, Gary Wittenauer, Lori Amann and Annette Schreder. James Mueth was absent.

Trisha Maddox made a motion seconded by Gary Wittenauer to approve the April 13, 2021 regular Board minutes. Voting all ayes, motion carried.

President Charles Kujawski recommended the following Village Appointments: Myron Hanna—Village Attorney

Lori Amann—Village Treasurer

Wade Harrelson—Zoning Administrator/Code Enforcement Officer.

Rich Happel made a motion seconded by Gary Wittenauer to approve the appointments of Myron Hanna—Village Attorney, Lori Amann—Village Treasurer and Wade Harrelson— Zoning Administrator/Code Enforcement Officer. Voting all ayes, motion carried.

Douglas Van Buren made a motion seconded by Arnold Eckart to approve the treasurer’s report and pay all bills submitted for the month of May. Voting all ayes, motion carried.

Mayor: Would like to update our Codefication to more represent the Village of Hecker. A Resolution will be presented next month on this. Also hope to have the Code Book available on line.

Committee Reports:

Public Works: HTC has decided to give the Village a check for $4,000.00 to help cover the cost of the generator project.

Parks: It’s time to put new mulch on playground areas.

Streets: Still looking into getting the streets swept of loose rock. The Quasquicentennial Parade will take place on September 4, 2021 at 4:00pm. A street map of the route was given out.

Zoning: Several inspections were done.

The Quasquicentennial Parade and Picnic will be held on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021.

President Charles Kujawski handed out and discussed the Appropriation Bill and the Budget for the Fiscal Year 2021-2022

Trisha Maddox made a motion seconded by Arnold Eckart to approve Resolution 21-009 the Appropriations Bill for Fiscal Year 2021-2022. A roll call vote was taken:

Rich Happel—yes              Arnie Eckart—yes

James Mueth—Absent      Douglas Van Buren—yes

Trisha Maddox—yes          Gary Wittenauer—yes

Voting 5 yes and 1 absent, motion carried.

Douglas Van Buren made a motion seconded by Gary Wittenauer approving the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Budget. A roll call vote was taken:

James Mueth—Absent      Douglas Van Buren—yes

Trisha Maddox—yes          Gary Wittenauer—yes

Voting 5 yes and 1 absent, motion carried.

Douglas Van Buren mad a motion seconded by Gary Wittenauer to approve Ordinance 21-010 Authorizing the Re-Financing of the Village Hall Renovations & Parking Lot Loan. A Roll call vote was taken:

Rich Happel—yes              Arnie Eckart—yes

James Mueth—Absent      Douglas Van Buren—yes

Trisha Maddox—yes          Gary Wittenauer—yes

Voting 5 yes and 1 absent, motion carried.

Douglas Van Buren made a motion seconded by Gary Wittenauer approving Resolution 21-011 Granting the 125th Anniversary Parade on September 4, 2021. Voting 5 yes and 1 absent, motion carried.

Gary Wittenauer made a motion seconded by Rich Happel to adjourn the meeting. Voting all ayes, motion carried.

The next Village Board Meeting will be on June 8, 2021
