American Family’s claims teams and agency owners are responding to help Colorado customers who were affected by fast-moving fires in Boulder County on Thursday, Dec. 30.

“We’re here for our customers and the communities affected by these tragic fires,” said Tim Constien, claims adjusting service vice president for the American Family Insurance group of companies. “Our response began immediately, and we’ll work with customers for as long as needed.”

So far, the company has received more than 200 property, commercial and vehicle claims in the Louisville and Superior areas, including dozens of claims for destroyed or severely damaged homes. Adjusters are already working with customers who have immediate needs, providing payments for temporary housing and food expenses if the home is uninhabitable.

Claims teams are serving American Family Insurance customers as well as customers of the American Family Insurance group companies CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance and Homesite. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, claims are handled based on customer preference and safety for customers and claims professionals. Best practices and protocols are being observed to ensure everyone’s health and safety.
