City of Waterloo Joint Waterloo Beautification, Street & Ordinance Committee met Dec. 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Officials Present- T. Smith, J. Hopkins, M. Buettner, S. Notheisen, S. Darter, R. Row, J. Trantham, K. Buettner, C. Heller, S. Kennedy, T. Birk and N. Krebel. Applicant T. Groves.

Petitions by Citizens on Non-Agenda Items – None

Beautification Application for 101 S. Main St. removed from Agenda per N. Krebel

Beautification Application for 217 W. Mill St. – N. Krebel and Tony Groves explained the updates to 217 W. Mill St. including storefront diagram. This would exclude the Board and Batten but add a new garage door with black frame and windows. S. Notheisen made motion to accept the application, with condition of true amount of cost. 2nd by J. Hopkins, motion passed unanimously.

Beautification Application for 213 W. Mill St. – N. Krebel and Tony Groves described the proposed new parking lot on the side of 213 W. Mill St. It will allow approximately 13 angled parking spots on an oil/chip base. N. Krebel recommended a minimum 16 ft. parking lot entrance off W. Mill St. into the lot and it will be one way exiting onto a street at the rear of the property. There will be parking bollards also placed in the area of entrance for safety. C. Heller made motion to allow the parking lot and entrance, 2nd by K. Buettner, motion passed unanimously.

Fees:

a. Plumbing inspections – After discussion K. Buettner made motion to raise Plumbing Inspections to $65.00 from $25.00. 2nd by S. Notheisen, motion passed unanimously.

b. Excavation Permits – After discussion S. Notheisen made motion to raise Excavation Permits to $75.00 from $25.00. 2nd by C. Heller, motion passed unanimously.

c. Demolition Permits – After discussion C. Heller made motion to raise the Demolition Permits to $75.00 and a $100.00 Inspection Fee. 2nd by J. Hopkins and motion passed unanimously.

d. Video Gaming Permits – After discussion it was decided to leave the per machine fee as is. Motion by S. Notheisen, 2nd by J. Hopkins and motion passed unanimously.

Comments – None

Motion to adjourn meeting at 7:02 p.m. by K. Buettner. 2nd by J. Hopkins and unanimous.
