City of Red Bud Public Works Committee met Dec. 20.

Committee Chairman Guebert called the meeting to order at 6:31 P.M.

C. Water – Aerator Replacement Project
The aerator project, waiting on paperwork.
D. Sewer
No updates
E. Streets
No updates. Schwartzkopf questioned the West Field, Flint Street intersection and Eckart said it will be repaired as part of the annual oil and chipping.
III. Employee Succession Plan
Daniel Koester will start as plant operator on January 3, 2022.
IV. Net Metering Policy Updates
Eckart will be reviewing the IMUA current policies and will be attending a free webinar on January 10, 2022.
New Business
I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting November 15, 2021 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Guebert, seconded by Committee Member Hanebutt, to approve the minutes from the November 15, 2021, meeting. Carried
II. Parking Spot Request from Changes – 902 Locust Street
Tammy Koesterer is requesting a handicap parking space for her clients at 902 Locust St. This would require an ordinance change. More information is needed. Leave on agenda.
III. Yard Waste Disposal/Burning
If someone is burning illegally, it needs to be reported to the police department for enforcement. Discussed, no action.
IV. Replacement of Unit #31 – Water Department Vehicle
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Guebert, seconded by Committee Member Donjon, to approve authorization to replace the water department Unit #31 with a used van, NTE $25,000 Carried
Clerk Cowell left the meeting at 6:47 P.M.
V. Gas Department Reporting/Utility Locating – Tablets and Services for Real Time Record Keeping
Eckart reviewed recommendations and costs involved, from a gas conference on December 9, 2021. There is money in the budget for this. Eckart will get more information for further discussion at the council meeting.
VI. Cincinnati Policy Updates
Poetker reported that RMA indicated that they do not think that the Cincinnati policy coverage is adequate. They are recommending an increase in boiler/machinery coverage from eight million to eleven million at an increase in premium of $1,561 for the policy ending December 2022.
Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Guebert, seconded by Committee Member Rheinecker, to approve authorization to increase the Cincinnati boiler/machinery coverage from eight million to eleven million, at an increase in premium of $1,561, for the policy ending December 2022. Carried
IV. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City
Eckart brought up information regarding repairs to the salt shed roof. It was not on the agenda; therefore, no recommendation could be made. (Clerk’s Note: the recording is inaudible.)
