City of Waterloo Ordinance Committee met April 4.

Agenda
(1) Petitions by Citizens Non-Agenda Items - None
(2) Review and Recommend to Planning Commission “Convenience Store” Definition.
Nathan Krebel handed out a proposed Convenience Store Definition Ordinance 40-1-15. Discussion about Square Footage and floor space dedicated to alcohol products. Committee decided to set 50% as the maximum floor area dedicated to alcohol products. Proposed Ordinance with changes recommended to Planning Commission.
3) Review and Recommend to Planning Commission “Animal Hospital” Definition
Nathan Krebel handed out a proposed Ordinance definition for Animal Hospital. Nathan also distributed 3 concept pictures that Veterinarian Shannon Melliere was looking at for a proposed new Veterinarian Hospital located on Northwinds Drive. Lengthy discussion about building materials, appearance of the building from Route 3 corridor and possible overnight boarding of Animals in emergency situations (noise). Shannon Melliere does not propose to “Board” animals but in emergency situations it may be necessary for animals to stay overnight for Veterinarian Care.
A suggestion was made to add “Overnight Boarding for animals in emergency situations” to Nathan’s proposed ordinance.

Nathan Krebel handed out Ordinance 7-10-1 Food Truck Vendors with highlighted changes to “Food Truck” definition and “Food Truck Vendor” definition. Discussion about Ice Cream Truck Operator.
Proposed Ordinance with highlighted changes recommended to Planning Commission. Notheisen made a motion to adjourn, 2nd by Hopkins, adjourned at 7:08pm
