City of Waterloo City Council met April 18.

Motion made by Alderman Kyle Buettner and seconded by Alderman Heller to approve an Increase in Monthly Household Charge for Trash Pickup to $16.78 (includes a $0.50 Recycling Surcharge).
Alderman Kyle Buettner mentioned that the 2.5% increase was not the maximum Reliable Sanitation could have requested per the contract.
Motion passed unanimously with Aldermen Kyle Buettner, Row, Heller, Notheisen, Matt Buettner, Hopkins, Trantham and Darter voting ‘yea’.
B. Consideration and Action on Renewal of the CTM Media Group St. Louis Local & Attractions 12-Month Distribution Program, term of May 01, 2022 through April 30, 2023 for a cost of $2,397.00 to be paid out of the Hotel / Motel Tax Fund (15% discount received through membership with Tourism Bureau of Illinois South).

13. Discussion of Matters by Council Members Arising After Agenda Deadline. Alderman Hopkins extended his sincere thanks to everyone for attending Trooper Nick Hopkins Memorial Highway Dedication.
Mayor Smith asked Tim Birk to pass along his thanks for the great job the crew did in filling potholes and to pass his thanks and appreciation to the Line Crew as today is National Lineman Appreciation Day. The Mayor also expressed his thanks to Tim’s crews for getting the Business Banners installed so quickly. Lastly, the Mayor extended his thanks to everyone who attended Trooper Nick Hopkins’ Dedication Ceremony.
