City of Red Bud Cultural Committee met June 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Ben Schwartzkopf, Jeremy DeMond, Mike Rheinecker, Curt Guebert, Kyle Donjon

Committee Members Absent:

Council Members Present: Bill Hanebutt, Alan Piel

Council Members Absent: Rodney Nevois

Others Present: Acting Mayor Susan Harbaugh, City Attorney Paul Ray, City Superintendent Josh Eckart, Code Admin. Jeff Mueller, City Clerk Joanne Cowell

Others Absent: Police Chief John Brittingham, Admin. Assist. Pam Poetker

Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf called the meeting to order at 6:18 P.M.

New Business

I. Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes – Meeting May 16, 2022 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to approve the minutes from the May 16, 2022, meeting. Carried

II. Request from the Red Bud Lions Club to Collect on October 7 & 8, 2022 Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member DeMond, to approve the request from the Lions Club to collect at the 4-way on Friday, October 7, 2-6 P.M. and Saturday, October 8, 2022, 8:00 A.M.- Noon Carried

III. Request from Chamber of Commerce to Close Bloom St. – August 9, 2022 The Chamber would like to invite food trucks and provide a little acoustic music to attract visitors from the Grand to Red Bud.

Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member Donjon, to approve the request from the Chamber of Commerce to close Bloom Street by city hall and use the city hall park on August 9, 2022, 4:00-8:00 P.M., drop electric and provide a stage, if available, for a “Tuesday Treat”. Carried

IV. Community Foundation of Red Bud – Final Start-Up Costs Request Recommendation made by Committee Chairman Schwartzkopf, seconded by Committee Member Guebert, to approve a $1,000 donation to the Community Foundation of Red Bud for insurance and start-up costs, as requested. Carried

V. Public Comments/Anything for the Good of the City Acting Mayor Harbaugh commended the Chamber in their efforts to attract visitors from the Grand to Red Bud.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:23 P.M.
