Sen. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) recently joined Rep. Dave Severin (R-Marion) during his announcement of the release of $17 million for renovations and improvements to the Rend Lake Resort and Conference Center.
Bryant expressed her thoughts on the event in an Aug 3 Facebook post.
"So pleased to join my friend and colleague Rep. Dave Severin in celebrating the plans to restore this very special site," Bryant stated on Facebook.
Meanwhile, Bryant and Severin have co-sponsored three proposals to assist Illinois residents with energy costs and ensure reliable energy production, according to a Carbondale Reporter article.
“Illinois is both one of the top energy producing and energy consuming states in the nation,” Bryant said. “We have to make sure that the energy production and grid capacity are able to keep up with our energy consumption. If we don’t, we face the possibility of even more utility rate increases and an even higher risk for rolling blackouts throughout much of the state.”
Bryant also shared a Facebook post on July 26 about an upcoming fundraising event, "A State Fair Affair," which is scheduled to take place on Aug. 29 in Du Quoin at the American Legion, 900 S. Jefferson, between 5 and 7 p.m.
Bryant ran uncontested in the June 28 primary to represent the residents of District 58, and is running unopposed in the general election.
