Illinois state Representative David Friess (R-Red Bull) was positive about his district's boundaries being altered in a Facebook post Saturday.

"It is hard to complain about the boundaries of my new district since they drew 17th Street BBQ into my district," the post read. "Miki and I were in Murphysboro yesterday and had to stop in for some pulled pork. I am looking forward to representing the new 115th District."

Friess has spent his summer taking part in numerous campaign and community activities. On June 22, he and state Senator Terri Bryant (R-Red Bull) toured the coal-powered Baldwin Power Plant and discussed rising energy costs.

“Well, it was a very busy day,” Friess wrote in a Facebook post after the event. “Terri Bryant and I spent some time at Baldwin Power Plant. We discussed the projected increase to everyone’s energy bill, the reliability of the grid and future projects.”

Friess published another Facebook post on July 11 regarding his experience celebrating Prairie du Rocher's 300th anniversary.

"I want to thank Mayor Mark Wilson for allowing me to participate in Prairie du Rocher’s 300th anniversary and Connie Stellhorn for showing us the Conner House," the post read. "It was good to see GOP gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey and candidate for state treasurer Tom Demmer at the festivities."

Friess also attacked Governor J.B. Pritzker for declaring a public health emergency regarding monkeypox in early August.

"After countless emergency declarations related to Covid, the tyrant could not help himself," Friess wrote in a Facebook post on August 3.
