City of Pinckneyville City Council met Aug. 11.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

ROLL CALL

Commissioner William B. Stotlar called the special meeting of the Pinckneyville City Council to order at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall. Members present: Commissioners Ricky J. Cicardi, Kevin B. Hicks, Sammy D. Peradotta, and William B. Stotlar. Absent: Mayor Robert L. Spencer. Administrative staff present: City Clerk Melissa S. Kellerman and City Attorney Don Bigham.

REQUEST APPROVAL TO HIRE THREE FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICERS 

Commissioner Hicks requested approval to hire three full-time police officers from the Merit Board Final Eligibility List, with the first two applicants starting the academy August 30, 2022, followed by the third applicant starting in the next available academy. Commissioner Hicks made a motion to approve hiring three full-time police officers. Commissioner Peradotta seconded the motion. On roll call: Commissioners Cicardi, Hicks, Peradotta, and Stotlar voted YEA. NAYS: None. Motion declared carried.

ADJOURNMENT 

Motion by Commissioner Hicks, seconded by Commissioner Cicardi to adjourn the meeting at 10:02 a.m. On roll call: Commissioners Cicardi, Hicks, Peradotta, and Stotlar voted YEA. NAYS: None. Motion declared carried.
