Pinckneyville School District 50 Board met Sept. 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. A regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #50, Perry and Washington Counties, Illinois was held at the Pinckneyville Grade School Building in said district at 6:00 P.M.

2. Budget Hearing - Informational

3. The President called the meeting to order and directed the secretary to take roll. The roll was taken and Kyle Pursell, President and the following members were present: Paul Nehrkorn, Bill Yates, and Aaron Johnson (6:22), Greg Conway. Also present were the following people: Brian Pasero, Mark Rohlfing, Matt Foster, Shari Kovic and Nathan Fisher.

4. Consent agenda - A motion was made by Yates and seconded by Conway to approve the Consent agenda. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Pursell, Conway, Yates. Yes-4 No-0. Motion carried.

5. Visitors and Committees were welcomed.

5.1 Resolution to return to in person instruction - Informational

5.2 Public comment- Informational

6. Old business

6.1 Capital Building Projects: Informational

6.2 Safe return to In-person instruction - A motion was made by Yates and seconded by Conway to approve the Resolution for the safe return to in-person instruction and continuity of services plan as presented. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Johnson, Pursell, Conway, Yates. Yes - 5 No - 0. Motion carried.

7. New Business

7.1 Freedom of information - No Request

7.2 Property/Casual Insurance - A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Nehrkorn to approve the Property Casual insurance renewal for the 2022-2023 school year. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Johnson, Pursell, Conway, Yates. Yes - 5 No-0. Motion carried.

7.3 Budget - A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Yates to approve the resolution to adopt the 2022-2023 budget as presented. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Johnson, Pursell, Conway, Yates. Yes - 5 No-0. Motion carried.

7.4 Administrative and teacher compensation report - A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Nehrkorn to approve and display the 2021-2022 administrative and teacher compensation report as presented. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Johnson, Pursell, Conway, Yates. Yes 5 No-0. Motion carried.

8. Executive Session - A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Nehrkorn to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Johnson, Pursell, Conway, Yates. Yes - 5 No - 0. Motion carried.

8.1 The appointment, compensation, employment, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the public body (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1), as amended by P.A. 93-57)

8.2 Student disciplinary Cases (5ILCS 120/2(c)(11)

Coming out of Executive Session- A motion was made by Yates and seconded by Conway to come out of executive session. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Conway, Johnson, Pursell, Yates. Yes 5 No 0. Motion carried. 6:22 pm

9. Considered Action Items

9.1 MOU with PEEA, Exhibit A - A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Yates to approve an MOU with the PEEA, Exhibit A, as presented. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Johnson, Pursell, Conway, Yates. Yes - 5 No-0. Motion carried.

9.2 MOU with the PEEA Exhibit B - A motion was made by Conway and seconded by Nehrkorn to approve an MOU with the PEEA, Exhibit B, as presented. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Johnson, Pursell, Conway, Yates. Yes - 5 No-0. Motion carried.

Employment

9.3 Jr. High Student council position for the 2022-2023 school year - A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Yates to approve Diane Petty for the Pinckneyville Jr. High student council position for the 2022-2023 school year. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Johnson, Pursell, Conway, Yates. Yes - 5 No-0. Motion carried.

10. Announcements, Dates and Events

Oct. 7-12:30 pm dismissal: School improvement

Oct. 10 - Columbus Day; No School

Oct. 11 - Jr. High construction; No school

Nov. 4-1230 pm dismissal; school improvement

11. Adjourn A motion was made by Johnson and seconded by Conway to adjourn the meeting. Roll call vote: Yes- Nehrkorn, Johnson, Pursell, Conway, Yates. Yes - 5 No - 0. Motion carried. 6:35pm.
